KITSAP HOMELESS CRISIS RESPONSE AND HOUSING PLAN

Kitsap County's Homeless Crisis Response and Housing Plan provides background data on homelessness, reports on progress to date, and outlines the goals, strategies and action steps to be implemented over the next five years to make homelessness rare, brief, and one-time. The Kitsap County Homeless Housing Plan was last updated for 2018 and was approved by the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners.

Each year, a report is compiled on the uses and outcomes for the grant funds distributed to social service organizations working to implement the Homeless Housing Plan.


 

HOUSING SOLUTIONS CENTER

(Kitsap's Coordinated Entry Program)

The Housing Solutions Center (HSC) is Kitsap County's one-stop intake and referral center for all households experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.  The HSC has offices in Bremerton, Port Orchard, Poulsbo, and Bainbridge Island.  Coffee Oasis partners with the HSC to provide coordinated intake for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness.  Below is data about the people that are served by the HSC:

POINT IN TIME COUNT

Each year, by federal and state mandate, Kitsap County partners with local social services organizations to conduct an outreach effort to survey as many people experiencing homelessness as possible during a 24-hour period - this is called the Point in Time Count.  It offers a snapshot of homelessness for a single night in January.

KITSAP HOMELESS RESPONSE SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

Reports about the capacity, efficiency, and effectiveness of the collective efforts of the social service providers assisting households who are experiencing homelessness is compiled and analyzed periodically.
