Join Read, Roam, Rules for a guided 2-mile walk exploring how urban planning, zoning, design guidelines, and the fabric of our community shape places that are walkable. Along the way, we’ll introduce ideas from Jeff Speck’s Walkable City and connect walkability principles to real-world examples—discussing how Kitsap County policies, development regulations, and community input guide building form, street design, and public spaces, and how shared visioning helps define what kind of community we want to create and experience.

🌧️ Rain or shine, we’ll be out there. Please dress according to the weather.

Walk with us and be a part of the conversation!

📖 Book Club Workshop: From Walkable City to Kitsap streets—shape how we move and live.

Join Read, Roam, Rules for a book club–style workshop exploring the ideas in Jeff Speck’s Walkable City and what they mean for Kitsap County. Together, we’ll discuss key concepts such as the General Theory of Walkability—Useful, Safe, Comfortable, and Interesting—and examine how these principles show up (or could show up) in local planning, zoning, design guidelines, and development patterns. The workshop will include facilitated discussion, local examples, and time for participants to share observations and ideas about how Kitsap County and its communities can shape more connected, livable, and walkable places.

📅 Monday, March 23, 2025, 5pm-7pm
📍 Kingston Library, 26159 Dulay Rd NE, Kingston, WA
🎟️ Free & open to all

Come for the conversation, stay for the insights—let’s imagine walkability in Kitsap one step at a time.
