(Port Orchard, WA) - The Silverdale Recycling and Garbage Facility (SRAGF) will be closed September 21, 2026 through April 1, 2027, while construction continues as part of the facility improvement project. The full facility closure is necessary to allow construction to proceed safely and efficiently. During this phase, construction activities will prevent safe access to the facility for customers, staff and service vendors.
Customers can sign up for curbside garbage, recycling, and organics (food and yard waste) collection services through WM: https://www.wmnorthwest.com/kitsap or 1-800-592-9995.
Customers can use the following facilities during the closure:
Hansville Recycling and Garbage Facility
Wednesday - Monday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Olalla Recycling and Garbage Facility
Friday - Monday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Olympic View Transfer Station (OVTS)
Open daily 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The Kitsap County Solid Waste Division is developing a plan to provide periodic off-site recycling collection events in Central Kitsap while the Silverdale Recycling and Garbage Facility is closed. These events would provide collection for recyclable materials normally accepted at the facility. Information about event dates, locations, and accepted materials will be shared as details become available.
