Judge Maureen McKeeman

Judge McKeeman is a graduate of Willamette University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, 2005. In 2010, she earned her Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law. She was admitted to the Washington State Bar Association in 2011.
Judge McKeeman was appointed to the Kitsap County Superior Court bench in 2026. Prior to her appointment, Judge McKeeman served as the Presiding Judge of the Poulsbo Municipal Court in 2025. She has also served as a Pro Tem Judge in multiple courts throughout Kitsap County.
Prior to taking the bench, Judge McKeeman practiced law in Kitsap and Snohomish Counties, in both the public and private sectors. From 2012 to 2019, her principal practice area was criminal defense, representing clients accused of crimes through trial and appellate litigation. She also developed substantial therapeutic court experience.
From 2019 to 2022, Judge McKeeman served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Bremerton. She then transitioned into private practice, where she assisted clients in the areas of estate planning, trusts, and probate administration. While in private practice she taught community estate planning classes through Poulsbo Parks and Recreation.
Judge McKeeman values community service. Over more than a decade in Kitsap County, she has volunteered extensively in the community. She served as Vice Chair and Governance Chair on the Board of Trustees for West Sound Academy, served as Secretary of the North Kitsap Options Program, and has coached youth sports across a variety of programs. She has also volunteered with the Washington State Attorney General's Office of Military and Veteran Legal Assistance.
Judge McKeeman is a member of the Superior Court Judges' Association and was previously a member of the District and Municipal Court Judges' Association. As a practicing attorney, she served on the Board of Trustees of the Kitsap County Bar Association from 2023 to 2025. She has also been a member of the King County Bar Association, the Snohomish County Bar Association, the Washington State Association for Municipal Attorneys, the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Washington Defender Association.
