The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a law passed in 1990 that protects the rights of people with disabilities. It makes sure they are not treated unfairly in public places. As part of this law, Kitsap County Public Works must create an ADA Transition Plan. This plan looks at things like sidewalks, curb ramps, and pedestrian signals to see if they are easy for people with disabilities to use.

Kitsap County Public Works has created a detailed ADA Transition Plan to identify barriers, a schedule for removal and how the county will address requests for accommodation in a consistent manner. The Kitsap County Board of Commissioners approved the plan in spring 2025.
