Passports


The Kitsap County Clerk's Office is a passport acceptance agent. Our office will accept and verify all the information needed, collect the necessary fees, pictures and forms and forward them to the passport agency. Your passport will be mailed directly to you from the passport agency. For US passport questions and on-line applications please go to the agency's website: www.travel.state.gov

REAL ID Act— Extensions approved for WA and OR

Washington ID cards will now be accepted for domestic air travel with an extended date of May 7, 2025. After that date the standard driver's licenses will cease to be adequate identification for use at the airports.

Both states had applied for an extension of the REAL ID program and were recently granted permission. The previous deadline was set for October 2020. For more information please visit the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or the Transportation Security Agency (TSA).

What to Bring:

 1. Completed DS-11
 2. Provide evidence of U.S. Citizenship
 3. Present ID
 4. Bring copies of Evidence of U.S. Citizernship and ID
 5. Any supporting documents for Special Circumstances (ie name change)

 Minors additionally need to bring both parents or DS-3035, documentation showing parental relationship (ie birth certificate), and show parental consent. Please refer to U.S. Passports (state.gov) for more information. 

Starting January 3, 2022:

The County Clerk's Office is authorized by the U.S. Department of State to accept passport applications. Passport applications may be submitted without an appointment, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri and Wed 9:00am-3:30 p.m. The office is closed for lunch from 12:15-1:15pm daily. (Excluding Holidays)
We will attempt to process passport applications for everyone that comes into the office during the hours listed above, but the Clerk's statutory duties take precedence. Due to staffing demands, safety requirements and the increased volume of passport applicants we may not be able to process all applications even for those individuals that arrive during the posted hours. Thank you for your understanding and consideration.
