Chad Enright, Kitsap County Prosecutor

 

Chad M. Enright took office as the 21st Kitsap County Prosecuting Attorney in January of 2019.  He was raised in Poulsbo and attended North Kitsap High School.  He is a graduate of the University of Washington (Political Science) and Seattle University School of Law.

Chad began with the Kitsap County Prosecutor's Office in February of 2008 as a felony trial attorney.  A majority of his trial work was done in the Special Assault Unit, where he tried domestic violence and sex offenses. He also spent a great deal of time focusing on mental health issues and civil commitment hearings at Kitsap Mental Health.  Chad served four years as the Chief of the Felony and Juvenile Division under Prosecutor Tina Robinson.

Before joining the Kitsap County Prosecutor's Office, Chad worked in private practice for the Case & Hemstreet law firm in Port Orchard.  He contracted with Kitsap County as a felony level public defender representing indigent clients in Kitsap County Superior Court.

Chad is active with the Kitsap County Bar Association.  He has previously served as the Kitsap Bar Association President, Vice President, Secretary and Chair of the Superior Court Criminal Practices and Procedures Committee.  He was appointed by the Washington Supreme Court to the Washington Minority and Justice Commission in 2020.  Chad has also been appointed by the Washington State Health Care Authority to the Washington Substance Use and Recovery Advisory Committee.  He serves on the Board of Directors for Peninsula Services and Kitsap Community Resources.  Chad has previously served on the Washington State Pattern Jury Instructions Committee as well as the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross for the South Puget Sound and Olympics Region.  Chad is an active member of the Board of Directors for the Washington State Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (WAPA) and was elected as the WAPA Treasurer in 2026.
