Trail Closure Notice: Hansville Greenway Highlands Area

The Great Peninsula Conservancy (GPC) has temporarily closed trails in the Highlands area of the Hansville Greenway while contracted crews complete habitat enhancement work.

What's happening

Starting this week, crews will be using machinery to mulch blackberry, Scotch broom, and other vegetation to prepare the area for future tree plantings and restoration.

Closure details

Restoration work will occur along most Highlands trails for approximately two weeks. For public safety, trails in the Highlands are closed until further notice.

Give crews space to safely complete the work

Consider visiting other open trail areas until the closure is lifted

Directions:
Turn North (left) at the intersection of Hansville Road and Highway 104. Travel 8 miles to the intersection of Hansville Road and Buck Lake Road. Turn left onto Buck Lake Road and travel half a mile to the park entrance. The Hansville Greenway Wildlife Corridor is accessible from the Buck Lake County Park.

From Tacoma/Bremerton: Take Hwy 16 West to Hwy 3 North; Take the Poulsbo/Bainbridge Island (Hwy 305) exit. Follow to Hwy 307/Bond Rd stop light, turn left onto Hwy 307/Bond Rd. Travel on Bond Rd to Hansville Rd, and turn left onto Buck Lake Road and travel half a mile to the park entrance. The Hansville Greenway Wildlife Corridor is accessible from the Buck Lake County Park.
