About the program
The Kitsap County Seasonal Employment Program provides opportunities for individuals to gain hands-on experience through temporary manual labor positions that support County operations during peak summer seasons. The program aims to build practical skills, offer exposure to a variety of essential services, and create pathways to future employment, all while helping maintain and enhance the community.
Eligibility requirements
- 18 years or older
 - Valid driver's licence

Benefits
- Great pay and consistent hours - You'll earn more than minimum wage, work 40 hours a week, and receive a higher salary each summer you return. Most positions work the same hours every day of the week, so it's easy to schedule summer fun.
 - Meaningful work - Your work directly contributes to the well-being and improvement of our local community.
 - Valuable experience - Our seasonal positions build valuable skills and jumpstart your career. You'll gain hands-on experience that opens doors to professional growth and a deeper understanding of public service.
 - On-the-job training - No experience required! Whether you're new to the workforce or transitioning to a new career, you'll receive the support and resources needed to learn the skills required for the job.
 - A foot in the door! - Seasonal employees can return each summer without reapplying, provided they meet eligibility requirements. The Summer Employment Program also serves as a proven pathway to full-time positions—many current staff started their careers here as seasonal workers
 - Annual opportunities - Seasonal employees may be invited to return to a seasonal position every year if they meet standards on their performance evaluation and are a good fit for the position and team.
