Writers needed for "against" argument in Poulsbo Fire measure
PORT ORCHARD – The Kitsap County Auditor's Office – Elections Division seeks volunteers to write an argument and rebuttal against a ballot measure from Poulsbo Fire (Kitsap County Fire Protection District No. 18).
The Poulsbo Fire measure will appear on August 4, 2026, Primary ballots.
If you are willing to write an argument against the measure, please contact our office by Thursday, May 7. Committee members must be residents of the Poulsbo Fire district to draft arguments for the Local Voters' Pamphlet.
According to Revised Code of Washington 29A.32.280, districts proposing measures are responsible for appointing committees to write arguments for and against them. When they are unable, the Kitsap County Elections Office seeks writers. The county can name up to three people for the committee. They are appointed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Arguments are due by Monday, May 11. Rebuttals are due by Thursday, May 14. Deadlines are established to ensure timely production of the voters' pamphlet and can be adjusted.
The Primary Local Voters' Pamphlet includes official ballot titles, explanatory statements, arguments "for" and "against" each measure, and rebuttals.
