About Us

​Kitsap Recovery Center (KRC), a division of the Kitsap County Department of Human Services is located in Port Orchard, providing both inpatient and outpatient substance use disorder treatment services. KRC is state-approved and utilizes the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) treatment criteria. 

The facility houses 24 inpatient treatment beds and 12 non-medical detoxification beds. Employees include treatment staff and administrative support staff who provide dietary advice and assistance.
Approximately 1,200 adult men and women receive substance use disorder treatment for drug and/or alcohol addiction annually. KRC serves primarily low-income and Medicaid-eligible clients. KRC provides information, education and referrals to all Washington state residents.

Funding

Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) directly funds intensive inpatient treatment. A separate contract with DSHS provides funding for most other Recovery Center services administered by the Human Services Division. Therapeutic Court services are funded through a federal grant. Kitsap County allocates funds from real estate excise tax revenues to offset mortgage and other facility expenses.
